Solar water heating system idea

Just having a quick thought, will a 2088 be able to handle this do you think. And what holes can you find in the system? The roof stuff will all be black, it will be pex hose feeding in and going out of the large PVC. Not installing this, but I would consider it if it was feasable. I realize it would be a small system too. Maybe 5 gallons.

The almighty They (whoever they are) do it on houses just fine. Can't see why ya can't figure out a way to do it onna bus roof. It'd be real hot inside with all that black up top, though, unless ya got some awesome killer whoohoo thermal breaks.

I also wonder the heat difference if it wasn't painted black and just left white.

I have seen people use PVC for storage and for trail showers, the White PVC will promote growth of green things, I don't know why unless the air space on top of water (standing not 100% full) and then throw in heat and walla a jungle

Not "killer thermal breaks" but "killer whoohoo thermal breaks". I would have criticized you had you not specified.

Tank Calculator
to figure the length of a tubular "tank"
1: "flat bottom"
2: 1" DIAMETER of the tubing
3: Height leave blank
4: Width leave blank (for a rectangular tank)
5: Volume in Gallons "5"
Then click on the button for "Height" which yielded 1471 inches or 122.66 feet.

I love this tank calculator. For round tanks, mentally picture the tank (like a PVC pipe) standing on end, even if the tank will be laying on it's side. This calculator is what opened my eyes to the small amount of liquid a 10" or 12" diameter PVC pipe would hold. Needless to say, we very quickly dumped the idea of using a big PVC pipe as a holding tank. I have the web page saved on my computer desktop (Save WebPage as... Webpage, complete) and do not have to be online to use the calculator.

Smitty had a black hose water heater on his Skoolie:

Dang. It won't load automatically. Try the link:
