Maryland Safety Inspection

In Maryland newly purchased vehicles must pass a one time safety inspection.
I'm hoping to find someone who has gotten their bus through one of these. Where did you have it done and we're there any issues. My bus is going to get impounded if I don't get it inspected in the next few days!!!

Re: Maryland Safety Inspection

And they wonder why I never write..

So, For anyone facing a Maryland Safety Inspection .. I can tell you don't fear the big bad wolf.
Preparing for this inspection I fixed 3-4 rust holes in the floor/wheel wells and patched all of the seat bolt holes with fiberglass bondo. I also fixed exterior rust issues with the hinges on the back door and treated all of the rust spots with rust converter. The bus had a bare floor when I took it for this inspection.

I ended up hiring a tow truck to take the bus down to Maryland Truck and Auto Repair http://www.autorepairserviceglenburnie.com/ in Glen Burnie, the results are in from my inspection and they are as follows:

1. My windshield wipers suddenly have stopped working, so they need to work or it won't pass. No idea why my wipers are not working, they were working fine the day before it was towed...
2. The Running lights (lights on the top on each side) don't light up.. perhaps this is just a fuse that also impacts the wipers.
3. The top red amber lights in the back must be totally removed and the holes patched with either bondo or sheet metal patches.

The cost for the inspection is 299.99 and unless things you have to be re-inspected require the bus going up on the lift, there is no charge for the re-inspection to verify the items that should be fixed are fixed.
The cost for the tow was 350.00.

They are going to let me fix the light fixtures while it's parked in their lot this weekend.

Hoping this helps someone in the future.
