Bus crash in western Iowa

Not a skoolie, but still is a testament to how buses in general are built.

See the KMTV report on the crash on I-80 east of Omaha in which the vehicle blew a tire, tipped onto its left side, and slid what looks like 100 ft (30 m) along the grass. (If the link is broken by the time you read this, the beginning of the story is, "Minden, IA - Dozens of sleeping student band members were injured Monday morning when their charter bus blew a tire, tipped over and slid down a grassy slope on Interstate 80 near Minden, Iowa. Most of the band members have been treated for very minor injuries and have been discharged from Omaha and Council Bluffs hospitals.") The video indicates that the driver is OK, too, after being treated for cuts.

As for the bus itself, it looks like only the blown tire and broken windshield need replaced (Along with some front-end repairs) to make it driveable again.

The kids didn't have seat belts on. SUV occupants can't get away with that. If that bus had been built with sticks and staples...no, wait: it's illegal to make buses out of stix-n-staples.
