4400 a year insurance?!? Southern ontario

Hey guys so we recently bought a skoolie and insurance is trying to say 4400 a year The driver is 30 years old has his g license but hasn't been insured before. Is this a ridiculous amount or what. He has no accidents or tickets or anything like that.

What's it titled, registered, and insured as?
Sounds like they think you're hauling kids around on a route or something.

Never been insured means your SCREWED, if you had a car you would still pay high rates for the first couple years, then your rates will go down.
when I got my bus I paid 1500, for a year, and they gave me a year to do the conversion, then I had to have it inspected to show it was done, then my insurance went down to 750, but I added to my other car and truck insurance as a rv and it went to $210.00 a year. Keep in mind that I have been insured for over 35years, and I have other stuff with the same insurance company. I'm in northwestern Ontario.

Under 300 a year here. Make Sure it is registered with Service Ontario License Bureau as a Motor Home before you even think about calling your insurance.
I just learned this lesson very quickly and for future reference.

Yep, $4400is crazy. When I was in a pinch to get insurance quick previously, I went with a insurance company that was charging $150 a month I thought that was bad!

Yesterday I reinsured with the cooperators. $900 per year for our car and bus (rv) combined. They didn't specifically ask if it was a converted bus, so I didn't bring it up. We'll see how things go
