Very nice, wish I could have acquired something like this. Can't wait to see what it becomes. Go Krunk!

J-Zilla --- Welcome! Great shorty there. Sounds like it is really set up well and should make for an excellent conversion. Do keep us up to date as you go!

looks like mine almost to a T. The handicap door is different. You should have 16' behind the drivers seat. Lots of options you have...good luck

Re: My name is JZILLA and I am now a SKOOLIE.

Why not use an inverter? It would be quiet cooler and use less power.

Re: My name is JZILLA and I am now a SKOOLIE.

I think technically these are invertors. We had units similar to these on a couple fire trucks our department bought in the mid 80's. I don't remember what brand the "generators" were, they were mounted in the upper back side of a storage compartment. We used them to run scene lights, all we had to do was flip the lights on and the "generator" worked.

Here is a link to a similar unit. http://www.phonetx.com/32082000.html

If you can get it for a $100 grab it. The place I linked to is selling them new for $1900

As a matter of fact if you don't want it I'll buy it if you can UPS it to me.

Hey JZ --- Good to see another Skoolie here in Houston! Will have to keep my eyes peeled for it. And ya definitely got that "TDC" look down pat! Where do you park your shotgun while driving?

...and where did you get it done? Are you happy with the job? (I will be looking for someone who can handle a bus myself pretty soon).

Re: My name is JZILLA and I am now a SKOOLIE.

Jzilla --- for whatever reason, the school bus lettering thing seems to be a common problem. You'd think they (the body/paint folks) would get it right more often. I've heard the same story from people who've spent big bucks on fancy paint jobs only to wind up with the same "show-through" when it was all said and done(?). Guess it is a blessing in disguise that my bus was built way before vinyl was even invented!

if you move the handicap door to the front it looks like mine. got any pics of the inside, curious. You said it cost a G for the paint, correct? again curious... outside looks good

DA BEARS!

seeing that your going to have a mobile DJ studio, see if oyu can get some music related companies to "sponsor" you. Make up vinyl's with their names or equipment. You put the vinyl on and get paid for advertising.

Re: My name is JZILLA and I got a bus!

I thought of getting sponsors here also, but found out I would have to get commercial insurance, that did that. Love the seat frames.

Hey JZ --- really great lookin' upholstery job! Love the piping. Care to share the name of the shop? I'm in Houston myself and will be needing some work done in a few months myself. Nothing fancy...just a jackknife sofa bed and pilot's chair.

Re: My name is JZILLA and I got a bus!

Got the note, many thanks...will try to call on Friday. I'm in the old Downtown Art Warehouse District but the bus is just off Washington Avenue & Shepherd. If you get a minute this weekend, drop by the ArtCrawl and look me up. See more about my building/studio here...

PS...my Spanish is pretty much limited to "Un cerveza, por favor".

You might want to add one more phrase to your vocabulary: "Donde esta el bano?". That's to be used after consuming the afore-mentioned cerveza.
