Hello....new guy, new "short" bus
What a great site with a wealth of info.
I flew out to Baltimore Maryland early wed. Morning Aug 6th. Got a ride out to Joppa and picked up my new to me 2001 bluebird. I'm driving it back to the Austin Texas area. Been quite the trip so far. My A/C compressor seized up right after I hit the road and the temp gauge reads way to high (in my opinion) at 210, sometimes hitting 220 (I hope the gauge is off). I'm constantly looking at the gauge while driving and have even pulled over to ck it a few times but it just doesn't seem that hot, at least at the radiator. The engine seems hot so maybe I have a bad thermostat. I also notice the fan is not moving on start up, bad fan clutch maybe.
I'm in Indianapolis now hangin with some friends and going to the MOTO GP here in town. Probably on the road again tomorrow. Hope this ol feller makes it home.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Hello....new guy, new "short" bus
Good luck, Rob. Hope it's just a bad thermostat. Can't wait to see what the bus looks like. Get to your destination safely, Sir.

Drive safe and keep Austin weird. Always good to have another Texan on board.

Re: Hello....new guy, new "short" bus
So darn busy with other "stuff" I have not had time to even ponder what to do with the bus. It actually ran flawlessly all the way home (1800 miles) and used zero oil. I think the temp issue was me running the engine to hard one thing I cannot get to work is the wheel chair ramp. I know it works I just can't figure it out

Sweet bus. As far as that ramp goes, have you looked for an enable switch on the left driver console panel?

Re: Hello....new guy, new "short" bus
My friend has a shuttle with lift, she had the same problem but she also never used the emergency brake. Once she did and with the engine running, it worked. But you should also check the fuse box(s).

Re: Hello....new guy, new "short" bus
You do know that unless the seatbelt is across the lift and latched, it won't work?
