So my buddies confirmed...I own a new bus...we'll call this one Drgn Slayer...since my other bus Haus of Drgn died(transmission) and was sacrificed in trade and extra cash for this new project. Once they make it down from the Midwest this weekend I will get to physically see it and have an idea as to my next move. Here's a few pics. It's bigger, has a better engine. Here's some pics I was sent.

Welp...my new to me bus arrived today from the long a$% trip back from Lexington, KY. Just some slight details to iron out, the front a/c needs to be recharged, the overhead cab a/c is not working( anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1996 Metrotrans w/ Trans Air control?). the wiring panel looks immaculate, found the relay, just need time to test it more...The roof a/c Coleman kept shutting off, easy fix, the extension cord it had wired in, was missing the ground portion of the prongs. So I replaced the cord, worked like a charm. Then I noticed someone had the brilliant idea of wiring in a HUGE inverter(5000W- 10,000Wmax) to the existing onboard batteries...in other words the main starting battery, and the little accessory one...Umm...that will have to be remedied, with at least 2 marine batteries. I also did a once over w/ the silicon to seal up most of the joints. And another funny thing the guys noticed was that there is a passenger seat, but no seat belt...at all. no hole to pass it through either, I'm assuming that the anchor points are still there, so I guess tomorrow we will take a trip to the junkyard. That's about it for now, will take some pictures in the AM, i had like 2 feet to spare in my side-yard...fit like a glove.

If yours is like mine, the AC from the box mfg. is tapped into the stock Ford AC + run in series. There is a sticker on my dash stating the rear AC must be on for the front to work.

Yeah, sorta like my last one, but this looks so much cleaner. I plan to play around w/ it tomorrow, didn't run for them at all, I got the outside fans run on the intercooler briefly when I trip the relay, so we'll see what happens.

Yesterday I figured out the problem w/ the rear facing a/c. I noticed the overhead control panel was getting no power, so I followed in back under the hood, and the solenoid looked bad. So I jumped the solenoid and the power came back tot he panel, and the a/c kicked on. So after we dropped two cans of refrigerant into the system, it all began cooling( probably needs 1 more). The boys came by and changed the oil on it...crazy how much oil is used in diesel engines. Started adding some door speakers, and it started to rain. Hopefully I should be able to wrap up the other door then wire in a speaker selector switch for the outside and front speakers. Let's see what else...I have a lead on a decent dresser on Craigslist, it's in the area and free(best kind). I will follow up with some more pictures later in the morning after I get home from work. Night all.

Wow, another Metrotrans! I have a thread down the page. I have been fighting A/C problems and finally converted it to 1 compressor. How is yours set up? I bought a replacement solenoid on Amazon pretty cheap.

it was already a 1 compressor set up... phew! yah I got my solenoid locally at Advance Auto Parts... like $20. After I changed it , it started to working again.

Okay so I was able to get the other speaker installed, and then added a DPDT Center Off Toggle from The Shack and DIY'ed a speaker switch, so now you can choose from the front or outside speakers. depending what you need, and the rear facing speakers remain on. Here's some other random pics.
Also I found some sort of power thingy( still searching for better term) on the passenger overhead compartment, and have no idea what it is, been trying to track down the company( somewhere in Mexico) and there seems to be a plug in the engine compartment that may originate from said power thingy, next to the small accessory battery, any ideas?

Looks a bit like an amp, but it's kinda hard to tell from that view. I used to have an old 400 watt car stereo amp that looked like that. Is it connected to anything else that you can tell or are there any obvious wires or sockets connected to it?

Do you know if this was the original AC or a replacement?
Im starting a thread on my 1994 Metrotrans which came with a Trans/Air heating & cooling system. Just curious with the box on the top

As a fellow Metrotrans bus owner, I was curious if you'd possibly be able to post some picture of the bus doors/frame plus the mechanics that operate it, namely the long levers and hinges above the door. Mine has a strange issue of pulling outwards of about 6" while driving and I'm thinking that something is either broken or missing. It's one of the last things on my list of major items that need to be fixed to get it closer to inspection

This is the bus I want!! Very jealous, how is the gas mileage? When I wasn't looking, had tons of buses around for sale, now the market is sparse. Still need to get rid of my 20 ft enclosed trailer and the wheelchair van so still not quite ready but I want your bus!
Hey nice score on the bus. Never thought of using old restaurant seating in one of these. I'm still looking for a bus, and trying to make it as modular as possible. These would fit the bill, of course with a way to bolt them down.
Interested to see what you do with it, I'll be watching.

Sorry everyone, I was outta commission for a bit ( injured my leg at the end of last year, still recovering). Also. I lost my investment in this bus. the band disbanded, the bus left up north, and possibly sold. Dunno...all a tad shady. But, eventually I will buy another one and start again. Thanks again stay tuned...
