Original bus seat

So what did you guys do with the original bus seats? And how did you remove them, did you go right to the base and unscrew them? Or did you just saw it off at the bottom and floor over it?

Re: Original bus seat

How did you get rid of them after? Can you sell them or is it best just to junk them?

And thanks!

Noonien- No prob... and I guess it depends on your county solid waste regulations. I slowly got rid of them at our local county trash dump, and when I had my tree trimmed I added some to the pile for curbside pick up(Miami Dade County has a bi-annual yard debris pick up service). I know some people like to put out craigslist ads, either giving them away or selling them for a small price. Good luck.

Re: Original bus seat

I'll have to look up our regulations... or just hop on Craigslist then.

Re: Original bus seat

We gave ours to a friend and he scrapped the metal frames and trashed the seat cushions.

Save all the bottom cushions! You'll be amazed how often you'll wish you saved them. I still wish I left a couple seats in aside from the 2 I have at the table.

Good idea! I'm gonna have a fold out table and if I just left one of the seats in, I wouldn't have to buy chairs! I hadn't even thought of that, I guess I just really want to rip some seats out

Re: Original bus seat

So did you turn the seat around and then rebolt it back in the original holes? Or was it already like that?

That looks so cool by the way!

Re: Original bus seat

Thanks, I tell ya....if I could remember. I believe I just took a seat from the other side and turned it around. Because I raised the floor with insulation and plywood, I had to build a couple spacers for the wall side mount.
