Split rims drum removal
So I now realize I screwed up. I was tring to remove the front tire for what is now a stupid reason, but neverthe less. I went to loosen the lug nuts and remove the wheel like a normal wheel, well the studs spun in place. So I spent about 2 hours getting the lug nuts off of the studs, and wheel still wouldn't come off. Then I realized I needed to remove the 5 "tabs" on the outside and the rim separated from the hub.
So got the tire off. But now the problem is the studs got pushed inside the drum and I need to fix. So before doing anything else stupid in the 100 degree texas heat, how do I remove the hubs so I can reset the studs?

Re: Split rims drum removal
Ended up getting it, what a pain
Didn't see a pm. But we will be at all the games. Without a season pass I am pretty sure you will be over at routs to park and take the bridge across, but call the ticket office to be sure. We will be on the south side of the stadium behind victory hall. There are two large parking lots with a grass strip between, and that is where they put the season pass holders for rv parking

Re: Split rims drum removal
Good deal you got a hold of it. Not sure what I can do to help you with your rig but Im here for ya. I will be going to denton about every 2 weeks to cut the grass at my rent house. Maybe we can stop by and check out your bus?
Ill resend some PM info you and exchange some info there. Not sure where people go to park...tailgate but we drove around the stadium to get an idea of what is what there. Saw what we thought was Victory hill and wondered how that all worked. We are thinking about going to the game on the 31st of August to see all the tailgateage?
That really sucks if that is the case for us to get booted over to Fouts? I have been in Comms with someone from the athletic office and was letting me know all the hub bub.
Ill PM you and maybe we can exchange info there

Re: Split rims drum removal
I clicked on your name and tried to send you a PM and it says....
The requested user does not exist?
Ill try and send it to the email you have listed for your user.
Guess that's why you didn't get the PM

Re: Split rims drum removal
Homecoming is on the 9th of November but yes I will be glad to take some pics. Im just hoping I can get mine legal by then and some mods done. I either have no time and money.... or time and no money.
I think its a good thing when people who do this get together.

Re: Split rims drum removal
Very Very cool. It has came a VERY long way from the pics in your thread. Lots of MEAN GREEN LOVE THERE.
I would be VERY interested in seeing your bus. Our body styles are not that far apart. I love seeing things in person. I know pics do them well but you get a really good feel for how much room one will have?
Are you single AC in your bus? I am wondering how well that is working for you in our climate?
If you can hit me with some contact info for you in a PM if you don't mind.
Look forward to hearing from you

HOW???
I am trying to change my front bakes on an 81 skoolie with spoke split rims. I started to losen the inner bolts that hold the spokes to the drum and they spin.
How are these supposed to come off???
PLEASE HELP!

just cause it has spokes dosn't mean it has split rims. i doubt it does as they did away with the 2 and 3 piece rims long ago. before 81 even.
