The smell of fuel...

I have had an issue with my bus I'd like to get some advice/help with.

Every time the heat rises, say 80's, I smell gas vapors escaping from the fuel tank. I am not sure exactly where to begin looking, but I suspect my vapor recovery system may be faulty. I have no fuel leak, and no major loss of fuel from this issue. It's more of a nuisance-safety-preventive measure I'd like to fix, but have no clue what I'm looking for.

The lines look good. No other visible issues. I don't "top off", the gas tank looks fine, gas cap is in good order.

Any ideas where to begin?

Re: The smell of fuel...

if it's vented with a rubber hose the end may be clogged up, causing the vapors to creep around the gas cap?

Or you may have a cracked hose. Start at the tank and work your way back checking hoses and fittings.

I miss those good old shows. The Andy Griffith show was one of my favorites.

Gomer: You might be mashin' down too hard on your acceleration, an' floodin' 'er out.
Barney: I'll handle this Gomer.
Thelma Lou: I think Gomer's right, I smell gas. Do you smell gas, Andy?
Andy: I smell gas.
Opie: I smell gas.
Gomer: I smell gas.
Aunt Bee: I smell gas too.
Barney: ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! You smell gas! Of COURSE you smell gas! What do you think this car runs on, COAL?

Re: The smell of fuel...

Thanks for the help (and humor) folks. I'll take a better look again and see if I can't find my problem.

Cheers!
