Found possible bus - brake issues?

It's a 1993 Chevy Bluebird with a GMC 366 engine and an AT545 Allison automatic transmission. It lists the vague "brakes in poor condition". So, lets assume the worst. How expensive are we potentially and probably talking here? Keep in mind the bus itself is dirt cheap, but it also needs new tires. I know nothing about bus brakes, and don't want to get in over my head if it's mechanically unfit/too expensive to make road-worthy.

Hydraulic brakes are very easy work

Hydraulic brakes are very easy to repair/replace. Mostly like a car only larger parts. The problem, if any should first be determined. Some truck parts stores will have any parts needed. It is best to connect with anyone who can get ya connected. with out a shop discount, parts can be spendy. One thing that affects hydraulic brakes, is the brake lines rust. With a little guidance and information, brake work is EZ. Ya may need to buy a large pair of spring pliers, and a shoe hold down spring tool.
Tools are some where on line. If ya have any questions, send a note............ Frank ............frank.id.crownatgmail.com

Re: Found possible bus - brake issues?

That's a huge relief to hear. Thanks, Frank, I might be sending you that email if I get this bus in particular.

If your bus is built on a van chassis you'll likely find parts at the neighborhood auto parts store. I got everything I needed at Autozone. Hydraulic heavy-duty van brakes are just like car brakes, just supersized and a lot more expensive. I paid $350 for parts to replace my Ford E-450 front brakes.

With a 366, it's not on a van chassis.

Re: Found possible bus - brake issues?

Same here, no need or love for anything apple.

Every person I know that has a I-phone, or some other piece of apple crap has nothing but issues.
Most other name brand I-Phone equivalents are far superior.

And the biggest thing I hate about apple, is the way they force you to buy a new product, by making none of there products upgradeable.
All other name brands have SD card slots, extra ram slots, ect.

Best part is the general public is stupid enough to keep buying their crap.

End of thread highjack and opinion.
