95 blue bird issue

Hello. I drive a 95 blue bird. While driving last night the engine died as well as most of the electrical. The headlights and the horn were all that worked. Tried starting it 10 minutes later. Started up. Drove about 500 feet before it died again. Have tried charging the battery, check that water in the battery, and check all the fuses. Still no electrical and won't turn over. Please help.

Sounds as if you may have a loose connection from your battery to the starter solenoid or at the switch solenoid, located in the box outside the drivers window, or in the back of your heater, fan and defroster switch panel. Not sure what the proper name is, but it is round and has large wires going to a least two terminals. It also makes a click sound when turning the start key from off to on.

Re: 95 blue bird issue

I don't want to be a dick but I must point out something. This is like walking into a mechanic and telling him the car is making a noise then asking him what wrong with the car without looking at it. You say you have Blue Bird but your profile says Thomas Vista. How about telling us exactly what you have. Gas or diesel and which engine. An older diesel will pretty much run by itself once started with a dead alternator. A gas engine will not. It needs juice. People on this forum will fall all over themselves to help someone in need, but don't make us pull information out of you.
