Webasto needed

Anyone have any links or shops where I might be able to get a used webasto for my bus? I found some new for about a grand but wanted to know if there were some used ones that were certified or warranted for a lower price?

Any help is appreciated.

Air or coolant? I sold a coolant for $1800 and an air for $1200. Both were Espar. $1000 sounds cheap.

Re: Webasto needed

Espar?? Not familiar with that brand. I just want a heater for my bus. Decided to get one after thinking about the places I will be staying in it.

Is there a specific model to look for? Do they work/install the same?

Thanks in advance,

-Doc

Re: Webasto needed

If you can get a Webasto [assuming its a DBW2010 or such]for $1000 you are getting a steal!! They are very expensive to fix as well. You could just spend $7000 and buy a new one too.

Re: Webasto needed

That sounds too cheap for a Webasto. Which model?

This is the one I saw. But to be honest I dont think I would need a huge one, only to keep a chill out of the air. Do you think a 2000 is too small? Should I try the 4000?

Re: Webasto needed

Those arent the Webastos we were thinking. I dont believe those will even take the chill out of the air, those are for a sleeper bunk. Thats only 7,000BTU.

The unit I have is 45,000BTU and it will keep the bus toasty. Look up model DBW2010.

Hey turf, which model did you get? That one may be the route I go.

Re: Webasto needed

Turf,
So I see you tapped into your fuel tank. Did the kit come with yours or did you buy that separate? I sent a message to the seller and he said the tank comes with it. That one is only a gallon and a half and I don't want to fill a separate tank every 10 hours.......

How long have you been using your unit? How do you like it? Have there been any unexpected issues with it?

Thanks for your info.

Re: Webasto needed

i've had the heater a year and so far i really like it. all issues have been user error. the Celsius readout is my biggest gripe.

there are 3 options for installing the tank included. its own tank, drilling into the fuel tank, or teeing off a fuel return line. all the hardware is included.

i broke the electric fitting to the fuel pump, but fixed with tape. - user error

i mistook a trouble code for a temperature. 14 could be 14 Celsius but in my case it was an out of fuel trouble code i forgot to hook up the lfuel line.... again user error.
there was one other trouble code i experienced..... low battery.... it shuts down automatically to avoid draining the battery

i've only spent 5-6 night in the bus with it running so it hasnt got a lot of use, but it kicks out the heat and runs quiet enough to tune out. my coldest night out there was about 10 degrees and the bus was toasty warm, with or with out blankets. i also have 2" of spray foam insulation all the way around.

i will be adding a piece of rubber between the frame rail and the fuel pump to quiet its clicking noise.

i have some online friends that were answering questions for me on the install. i made some videos of the heater then to point and show... here they are:

1st vid... the heater running right out of the box

2nd vid.... heater running with me trying to decide where the ducting will go.

if i was going to change anything........ i might opt for 2 heaters instead of one..... ducting and placement would have been much simpler

enjoy!

Sweet. I think I will order the same one. Thanks everyone for your help on the selection issue.

Turf, when I go to install this thing I will be picking your brain, so don't run off too far!!!
