New here. Here is my Bus. Dialup warning.

Some of you might have seen this bus. It is a 35' 88 International 1853 with a 210hp DT466 and an Allison MT643. And it only has 24,000 miles on it and about 500 hours. I plan on making it an RV. This bus was used on base as transport. It has almost no rust but paint is faded. The paint will polish out nicely. Only came with half the bus seating and it appears that is how it was built. Has a large rear double door and came with two ramps. One is under it and a larger one came inside. It has a 3cyl diesel motor in the rear that powers the standalone AC system. Now on with the pics.
Sorry some are blurry.

Exterior:

Stock Interior:

Moving and modifying the seats inside:

Edit: Fix broken links.
Edit2: Forum seems to be cutting the pictures off on the side.

Are those seats in your bus made to recline?

With that big double door in the back, maybe you should consider a false wall about 1 foot or so in, use the back as a 'garage' area...doesn't need to be deep, one or two feet is more more than enough. I've seen trailers with something like that on the back... makes for a great place to store stuff like the grill etc....

Yes the seats recline and the head room is 6'5".

The rear doors will be taken out and filled in. I have trailers to tow the toys with. I could use the interior space more.

Edit: Removing dead links.

I am not used to seeing a bus with a dog house, but that one seems larger than usual. Is this bus still used as an ambulance?

Yes the dog house is large but the whole motor is under it although it does not sit much higher then the floor level. Not currently nor in the future as far as I can tell it is not. Unless you count it hauling around crazies like myself. Then yeah, maybe.

I am envious of a 6-5 interior height. Even room for a little bit-o-insulation unless you have 6-3+ people. I am 6-2+ with a 6-2 ceiling. What type of engine is the aux motor? The windows are an upgrade also. The engine...the trans. Wow, looks great. Good luck.

...Hey, if you're going to remove any of those fold-down seats, I'd like to have a chance to buy 2 of them off you...

That looks like the one on ebay. I talked to the guy. It sounded like a really nice bus. I ended up buying one 50 miles from home. I think you scored a super deal.

Re: New here. Here is my Bus. Dialup warning.

It is the one off dabay. I got it for less then he said he had in it. Funny thing is after he accepted my offer he had some others for a good bit more then I paid he claimed. Overall it is fairly solid. Needs new front tires rears would not hurt either. But it has a really bad front end shake from the one tire. It needs to be re centered. The rear doors have been hit most likely into a building. This is causing the rear doors to not line up perfectly but I will be taking them out anyway. Still have a little maintenance to do to her but over all I am happy.

I want to go with 22.5" rims and taller tires to get a little more top end and maybe super single rears.

Well I used the bus to help my brother move so I thought I would post some pics of a true home on wheels.

Re: New here. Here is my Bus. Dialup warning.

Any thoughts of doing a toy hauler type layout? Your bus is already set up for it. I'd love a wide back door like that to ride my quad up into the back of the bus. I had to put a big ugly rack on the back of my bus to haul it around.

Re: New here. Here is my Bus. Dialup warning.

No plans for a toy hauler. I am going to take those doors off and weld in metal to fill it. There is a good chance I will sell the doors at that point.

I like the paint job also. It helps keep it under the radar. So I think atleast. There are a few spots that need some touch up work but for the moment it is staying.
