Senza Legno, Senza Pontilli
Ok just got back from the east coast where my Italian in-laws live apparently the translation of "No Bastoni. No Chiodi Ricurvo a due punte" actually means something along the lines of No Sticks, no curved nails of the two toes, so after much discussion & research the title will have to be changed to "Senza Legno, Senza Pontilli"
Hello all, been kicking around the idea of doing a skoolie conversion, so today I picked up a 1988 Crown Pusher with a cummings engine & auto trans, Since I'm Italian by marriage I'm naming it " No bastoni, no chiodi ricurvo a due punte " which means " No Sticks No Staples" Got it home and 45 minutes later had all the seats out, I just love my air compressor & impact tools.I'm figuring about 2 yrs to get the project done because I also have to work on the house remodels to keep the wife happy speaking of which boy is she gonna be pissed when she gets home

Welcome! Love the looks of the older Crowns and there are several here to ogle. Is your engine mid-ship? Are they all? And one trick that has saved more than a few guys has been to tell the wife..."I really need your help with colors and fabrics". Not being sexist here 'cause...a). ...it's usually true...and b). ...it works so often. Just be sure to show her a few really good pix of what "other women" have come up with.

Re: No bastoni, no chiodi ricurvo a due punte
Thats a great looking bus and a beautiful dog! If I parked a bus like that hanging out over the sidewalk the code hacks would have allready towed the thing and I wouldn't have to say a thing to wifey--what bus?

Thanks I got lucky I was trying for a Gillig on ebay just missed it and the seller turned me onto this one on craigslist & it was only 130 miles away, I saw it was a Crown Pusher & decided I was going for it, $3300.00 later & it's sitting at my place

Re: No bastoni, no chiodi ricurvo a due punte
Rad bus! Welcome to the Skoolie family, and to the Crown rescue team!
I'm slightly jealous of your belly boxes (our crown is a midship dd 671)!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it
And I wouldn't worry too much about the wife, it's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission! besides, you're already married and the bus is already home..! Worst case she might make you sleep in it which might not be too bad ;)

I sent her some pics & facetimed with her, she said " Oh boy we're the proud owners of a Bus "

Definitely!! I'm glad my better half has been on board since the beginning. We can't even remember who's idea it was at this point.
Once she figures out how awesome your bus is maybe she'll come around!

Re: No bastoni, no chiodi ricurvo a due punte
Took my wife a few years to really come around! She wasn't really on board until I finished the conversion and we had taken several fun trips in it, and everyone who saw it said how cool it was. NOW she gets it.

I waited until my wife and I got divorced, and she still has an issue with it. I agree with inkblots84 “it's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission!”
