1991 National 29 Passenger Conversion

Hello All,

I am in the process of purchasing the bus in the videos below. I went to see it a few weeks ago and made a deposit. I'm going to pick it up in a few weeks, but I'm starting to plan. I live smack in the middle of Chicago, so I have no clue where I'd work on it. Saving the important decisions for later. I'll update things as I work on it. Does anyone know cruising speed for these buses? I'm looking to take road trips at 65MPH .

Also. The temp light was going on and off during the test drive. Owner believes the thermostat may be stuck since it hasn't been driven in a while. I have a 2 hour drive home. Should I change it before taking off? Or should I buy the parts just in case? Is the thermostat housing easily to get to?

Finally picked up the bus. Still looking for a place to park where I can get a few things down. Here is the beginning...
Does anyone need swivel restaurant style chairs?

I was here before. I built a party bus. It was both amazing and a headache. I'm not sure what I'll do with the vinyl wrap. Apparently, the white paint underneath is still in good condition. The bus is very solid outside of the spring suspension . Will installing airbags help?
