And I had an idea....

Around here, we have street signs made out of perforated galvanized square tubing... (probably 16 gauge)
Instead of welding the square tubing to the window ribs... what about bolting some plates to each side of the galvanized tubing, then bolt through the ribs, then jacking up the roof.... pinning it as you go.
