Bus isnít starting :(

Hey!

I know you have better things to do than help someone figure out why their bus isnít starting but I would really love some advice!

So I removed the air door assembly, unnecessary lights, emergency door buzzer on back and stop sign.
The engine doesnít turn over. I turn the key, fan runs, light beeping noise, then when I turn it all the way to the right it just shuts off. The batteries are good.

What might this be? Maybe it wonít start because I took of the buzzer on the back door or something else.

Chassis: Shuttle or Shorty. Still hunting

I dont know much about the full size skoolies, as I am doing a shuttle, but i have seen this question/ issue in this forum a few times over the past year. I would bet if you listed you make/ model/ year, somebody here can tell you exactly what is causing the no start. I have seen a few unhook something at that door and cause buzzing and no starts. Some kind of safety (the door isnt closed dummy) type sensor/ switch. sorry couldnt help more. But i think those were mostly the rear emergency door....? If nobody replies, you could always try to put back what you unhooked, and try starting till you find the issue. I know nobody wants to Undo work.

Yeah, there are safety interlocks. These buses are made to be safety first. You will have to do a search for safety interlock as there is a solenoid to defeat to get ignition power back.

Info on your specific make and model would help, getting rid of the stop sign is a must.
I already assume your back door wiring is the problem.
Why get rid of it? It is there for yours and others safety
During my build I used my bus for Boy Scouts and almost more often than not the door wasn't latched properly and I always forgot to check before I turned the key.
My dummy buzzer didn't tell me where but it did tell me that something wasn't secured properly.

Hey guys thanks for the replies!
It’s a international 1997 dt466 (7.6L) 72 passenger. I think it may be the door.
