ceiling...to leave or not to leave intact

Wondering what people have done with their ceilings on their buses. Is it worth the effort involved to take it apart and re-insulate? My husband is of the mind to leave it be while I wouldn't mind re-doing it so we can cover over the bus lights that came with and tidy it up a bit.

Thoughts and ideas and experiences welcome.

Thanks,
Josh and Jules

Welcome Josh and Jules,

There are numerous threads covering this question on the forum. A bit of searching and reading will net you much information.

If you want a "steel tent" for weekending in mild climates then I would leave it.

If you want a nice "home" to spend extended time in or may be camping in more extreme climates then I would definitely remove the metal ceiling, insulate well and install new wood ceiling.

Good luck with your project!!

another thought on why people take down the ceilings is because of potential leaks. if you want to make it a long term conversion or just sound. most choose to pull it down and check for any types of mildew from water and make sure there is not any problems from potential water damage.
