The base as a whole got BRAc'ed from Jersey. There are MANY people still butthurt over that. It happened in 2008/09 I think? You've worked here for 6, 7 , 8 yrs now. Get the hell over it.
The low level kids aren't all from Jersey but they all act like the Jersey princess. They didn't get beat enough as children. It's not boundries they are pushing; it's buttons they are pushing. And they are being told it's ok because management refuses to manage.
We'll have a meeting and discuss it. <--- Bullsh1t, suck it up buttercup and quit being a wuss.

Thomas front engine midsize, 30 foot floor plan ideas
Hello! This is 'the Wife' actually...
So, ShagNasty wants to build the bus just for us.
I want to be able to sleep grand kids, or other company at times.
Needless to say, we do not have a meeting of the minds
Ok, I say we tiny house trick this thing!
Being a smaller bus, how we use space is critical. We do know we will have some 'garage space', composting toilet, solar panels, hopefully a wood burning stove, shower/tub, kitchen sink, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, counter, dining/entertainment area... I believe those are the most key components.
What ideas do you have to add magic bed space?
I've read some good ideas on here; what has worked for you? What didn't work? Tricks for 'hiding' a bunk under a cabinet with drop down for actual use? or any other thoughts and tricks?

I'm with Shag and Ben Franklin; relatives and fish start to stink after 3 days. Your bus has wheels and runs? There's no good reason family should be able to find you.

Sleeping bags, ... under the bus. The biggest kid gets the spot that doesn't drip oil.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I have a question about floor plans
I don’t have a bus yet but I want to plan the layout is there a major difference between different busses that would make this a waste of time ?

Depends on how far you plan on stripping the original bus. Some have A/C plumbed along floor lines and walls. It's easiest to build what you want when starting with a big empty box. Then the only difference in floor plans is length, as much as 20' depending on a shorty or a 40'er. whether RE or FE determines useable build out at the rear.
Draw a rectangle that depicts 7.5' wide, layout what you want in your bus and that will determine what length bus you need.

I plan to buy a dog nose with the max length from bumper tp bumper to be 30' so we can go to any R/V park or boondock and not be kicked because we are too long. I will build a wall for a 2' garage, on the other side a murphy bed that when up is a table or desk. Queen size we hope open horizontal because of the height of the bus. I am 6' so I need a a tall center of the bus. So any floor plans in sketch up helps. I will try to draw the rectangle later today and see how it goes.

I just reentered the bus world with a 13 window, 95 Thomas RE. Working on a rough sketch in my head at this point. I haven't even measured floor space yet. I think 28ft to the rear weird bench thing/engine cover just below the hatch window. Not what I went out looking for but she's the one I bought. I actually love that back window, so I'm good.
I'm doing a double bed back there. Even full timing we'll just have to be a little closer. I want a zig zag pattern going from back to front this time around so I'm working on that. Not sure if that precludes me separating the head from the shower but we'll see. Any tips on location for that shower drain? Also any thoughts about building your shower over the wheel well... As in incorporating that into a shower seat? Thoughts tips and ideas welcomed!

Dog nose 40 foot(35’ inside). 3rd revision.
Hello first time posting our plan. This is what we feel will work for us, 2 adults one 3 year old and 65LB dog. We are going to do infloor heating with an Olympian wave 8 as a secondary. We will also add lots of under bus storage. We will be full timing in this but will have a “off grid home base” with storage shed and to park when we are back visiting family.
We will have 1050w solar, and propane.
4 burner cook top, 12volt fridge/freezer combo, 4’6” tub/shower, composting toilet, 30” vanity(beside toilet), rear bedroom with storage under entire bed which will be raised 2 feet or more off the floor, 2nd bedroom will have 5 foot long bunk bed.
Still trying to figure out if we will have a built-in propane oven or a large electric 1500watt convection to toaster oven.
Also need to figure out safe seating for my wife and daughter while we drive. I was thinking of some type of seats beside drives seat but not sure how that works but must have 3 point belts.
Any tips or ideas would be great love this forum!

Should be a little more than 28 ft of floor. Pretty sure my BB measures 34' from back glass to drivers seat. The bench/deck over the engine is NOT 6'. 4 1/2 ft tops.

When my son was young I would sometimes let him play in areas that some people considered dangerous (in Latin America). They would warn me, be careful, someone might take him. I would say, I'm not worried, they'll bring him back soon enough.
He was what we liked to call "energetic." He was also curious and athletic, so when he would go to a playgroup at a new house (which were all supposed to be babyproofed) he would ALWAYS manage to get into something or climb something that no other baby/toddler had before. We joked we should rent him out to test people's kid proofing efforts.
Now he's 18 and he's the one that had the brilliant idea of a skoolie and we are working on it together. He's studying engineering so he's in charge of everything electrical & mechanical plus gas and water and I know about basic construction, painting, demolition (my specialty) and procurement.
I've only yelled at him a little so far. I probably jumped into this enormous project a little too quickly, but my teenaged son is voluntarily working on something educational and productive with me AND his friends come over and spend time here too (I have ramps and a creeper now so my house is the place to change your oil.) It's definitely a LOT more work and takes a lot longer to figure stuff out and then DO it once I figure it out than I anticipated. We have gotten a lot better at various construction/ handyperson skills already from practice on this project though. This week when my dryer stopped working I took it apart and figured out what was wrong instead of calling a repairperson! I'd never done that before.
