All kidding aside... There was a video from a member on here of a bus that had an incredible amount to sleeping capacity and storage... To see the video, you'd think the bus was 75' long.
Maybe someone else remembers the video... My memory fails me. Hate getting old

Sell em? I'd have paid someone to take them.

That Tennessee teacher that "kidnapped" that 15 year girl and took her to California.... Can you imagine driving across country with a 15 year old, using cell phone silence???

I wouldn't have made it to the Tennessee state line!

What do you want to bet that guy has rethought his decisions lately?

Without a doubt. That's when you get the best price for them tho. It's too bad they don't come with an exchange policy. I can't get mine to leave the couch. Outdoors?!? There's bugs, dirt, and stuff out there. I'm pretty sure mine were swapped at the hospital.

I dunno if they are on here but YouTube is full of fanilies with 3~5 kids and both parents living on a bus. I would install a James Bond ejection seat with that many. Kid starts giving me grief... You think you're the oldest but you had an older brother. You see that shovel; we don't talk about him any more.

Hallway talk... a guy that just came back this week from baby leave was talking to another guy that has a 3 month old. There's an app for tracking diapers, feedings, etc. WHY?!!? The other guy "Oh you need that the first couple of months." Me, ... "Yeah because there were no kids before the internet was invented."

I just noticed you are from Chesapeake VA! I am teaching there next week! Any suggestions for good local restaurants?

Dawn Treader's floor plan draft

Since we are removing all the seats right now, and then going to be removing all the flooring, we thought we should get an idea of how we would like to get the bus set up.

We are planning on installing solar on the roof of the front half of the bus.
We are also planning on having our water (fresh/black) under the driver side.
We plan to insulate and floor soon. And insulate everything eventually.
We would like to build a porch on the back roof with food down sides.
We would like an awning on the passenger side.

However, insides first.

Sounds like a solid well thought out plan. Some people put tape on the floor to outline where things are intended to go.

Yeah I never had a floor plan either. I just shoved all the things in that I want, then unloaded the stuff I didn't actually need. Things do have a way of working themselves out.

You should probably reconsider if you are near bear county.

Once I'm done patching the floor, I'm going to Costco to load up on boxes. I want to mock everything up 3 dimensional as close as possible. This door is going to open out, now you walk around and head for the bathroom.

I had several floor plan ideas drawn up - but in the end... I used none. I just put in the things I wanted and hoped for the best. So far it is looking pretty good.
I have about 2-3 more weeks to get it completed - before I put my house up for sale...
Still need a few odds and ends... but moving from 1300 sq feet to 200 sq feet is suppose to be a challenge.

That's what I should be working on instead.

You bought a little bus then. I'll have a mansion; 314 sq ft.

I thought I had a plan but I know I'll end up winging it. I know where I basically want things and I'm sure once I get building it will change over and over until it feels right.

Some of that is dash, lousy measuring, math rounding, and angles but it's still a solid 35' behind the driver's seat. Take another 3' off for the rear deck where the engine lives. That's still 240 sq ft of uninterrupted floor space.

I think it gives a good idea. When it comes down to it, our main goals are to keep the windows, and the feel of the bus home. So we will likely be measuring by windows when all is said and done.
