Grow Ivy on Bus?

Hey,

I talked to some landscapers and they said it would be possible to grow ivy up and all around the outside of the bus! Wouldn't that just be amazing! I would build skinny flower beds that attach on the skirt of the bus, plant and cover with landscaping fabric so the soil won't jump out. Also I was thinking of spraying the bus with MOSS! Ive seen it done on the sides of building and figure why not for a bus. Both moss and ivy would be good for insulation.

What do you think, do you like the idea?

It will eat your bus. Constant moisture, and the bus will simply dissolve under the moss and vines.

What you could do instead: A paint job with vines and flowers and "trompe l'oeil" techniques. Beauty and practicality at the same time.

I wouldn't want to drive behind you on the highway. I would have chunks of moss all up in my grill.

Down here in Georgia we use kudzu. Kudzu covers a multitude of sin ... and the trash in your yard.

it could be done. especially if its parked and never going to move.

virginia creeper - Parthenocissus quinqifolia - attaches itself with little adhesive pads. it doesn't get its moisture from its host. that comes from the roots in the ground or a container. i think boston ivy is similar.

your first 60mph drive would likely defoilate it.

but you are inspiring me to make a dashboard cover to hold some plants!

I like the idea- especially if it's Poison Ivy, then it'd also act as theft deterrent.
