Ok great. Thanks for the info on wiring the opposite ends of the battery string. That make sense!

Help

Explain in very simple terms...I want to use 6v batteries to power my electrical items in my short bus. The items are freezer 5 c.f., heater small unit, two lights and four plug ins. ( Remember, I said simple)

We are looking at implementing new sub forums shortly so if things are "moved" we will redirect to correct area

forget the heater, they draw too much power. coffee pots, hot plates all a big no no. if you plan on using batteries you have to charge them properly. a car charger wont do it and will ruin the batteries. deep cycle batteries get charged in stages, mine require to be brought up to 15.4 volts for 2 hours then floated at 14.4 the rest of the day, every day. handy bobs blog is a pretty good read on living of solar or batteries.

Electric heat is really only viable when you have shore power.
