We removed the panels yesterday to the heaters/defrosters up front (which don't work anyway since the coolant lines were removed by the previous owners). Inside was completely disgusting and it's open to the road below! Even if it needs air wouldn't it be better to have a filter between the road air and the box? The air ducts are toast anyway; there's no point in trying to clean them instead of replace.
I would think the new ones would be smaller and more efficient but are they more contained? Can I do anything with the old ones?
How about the stop sign arm motor- any alternative uses for that?
