I read that post just awhile ago- I believe they were talking about the lower bar of metal the seats bolt onto .... Very interesting read. The middle sheets of metal will be fine to take off and put back on..
The structural integrity of mine is fine and it goes offroading.
If its compromised any, its like .0000000000001%...
I'm fine with the tradeoff. How anyone can deal with the tin can interior is beyond me, but I have friends who do.
Gotta crack a few eggs sometimes...

That will not do well in challenging conditions. It also requires an air gap to achieve the r value it claims to have. I went with foam board. I would have preferred spray foam but that was not in the budget. I just installed the first bit today. I had my 23 and 20 year old sons helping measure and cut. It will be time consuming but not too difficult and the price was not too bad. Good luck finding the right solution for your bus.

Transit Bus Ceiling

Hi,

I have an International transit bus with a leaky roof, and just started the demo process, but now I find there’s a fiberglass (?) roof beneath the plexiglass I just removed, with plywood and some kind of cardboard insulation sandwiched in between that and the outside roof. I don’t see any seams or breaks where I could start tearing it off, it’s just one solid peace! I would even be bothering with the ceiling except I know there’s mold up there...the existing insulation regulated the bus temp really well.

Any thoughts or ideas?
