Power plug placement

Probably not the right first step but I was thinking of installing a 50amp power plug on the outside and a Temporary fuse box inside. So I have power when I'm working inside the bus when I'm working on it. I'm not sure where I should place the "50amp plug" on the outside of the bus, I know it should be on the driver's side in the back half but should it be in the skin below the floor so the back of it is open to the elements then run the wire up through the floor, or above the floor line and into the body where everything will stay dry?
