Yep, the Cap. is right. Its not uncommon to be parked by a tree and those darn birds don't seem to discriminate on who they bless with their brand of fertilizer. That's one of the big reasons I would have to have a filter and treatment process on that incoming water.

I realize this post is from a *long* time ago but did you figure out how to install a rain gutter system? I'm thinking similarly. One of the people I talked with though he could divert water running down the solar panels so it wouldn't be going over paint...
