I filled out the title MV-1 form, go the officer to come do the VIN inspection (which was not filed since we did a "model change").

The lady at the tag office had me fill out a "Model Change" form and she called the state office while I was there and she filed the paper work for me.

I have tags on the bus, the registration says HC (HomeCoach) which means it's legally an RV now and I'm good to go! God is good

I did have to pay taxes first, then get insurance, then I could get my tag, a little two step there.
@ RCLong I need some help with this. How did you get your title change to motor coach from bus? what papers and process did you follow?

I am currently running with progressive commercial insurance because that is all I could get for a bus title.

Hey, I'm new to this fourm, and about to register my first bus in GA. Fulton County (City Of Atlanta) I'm not looking forward to it. I'm waiting on my emissions exempt paperwork to go through first,... I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks for the info.

good luck. I had an older bus so I didn't have the need for emissions tests. the plate was pretty cheap though and I am up for renewal and are asking for my weight on it.

First off, how did you get an officer to come inspect your vehicle?
What did they look for?
Is that required for the MV-1 and/or model change form?
Is the model change form available online (I see that the MV-1 is)?
Did this result in a title that is now designated as a motorhome?
How much were your tags, fees, etc. when all was said and done?

Thanks for your time.

Anyone, in the No.Georgia area, willing to check out an old bus for an out of state member? If so, would you please send an email to discuss details, and compensation.
BTW the bus is about 30 minutes No. of Atlanta.

Thanks in advance,
