Re: Remove rubber flooring.

I used a 70 in. Tamper Head Digging Bar that weighs about 20 lbs and beat myself and the bus to death until the rubber gave up and came off. Why make it easy?

mine simply peeled up without much of a fight. It came out in whole pieces and was very thick. My bus didn't come with plywood floors, just metal with rubber on it.

Re: Remove rubber flooring.

Metal with very well stuck rubber. Floored over the rubber. Figured the rubber would help with the sound deadening. Maybe.

Re: Remove rubber flooring.

I removed the plywood subfloor with a long pry bar, circular saw and ratchet straps. It was a messy operation.

first, I set the circular saw to the thickness of the rubber + plywood, then made a couple lengthwise cuts. From there I used the pry bar to wedge under the floor and pull it up a bit. Next, since I had some of the windows out, I wrapped the ratchet straps around some of the ribs and put the hooks on the lifted edge of the plywood. Then I walked along the ratchet straps and slowly tightened each one. This worked for most of the plywood pieces, except for some that were wet and nasty. They broke and I had to pry them up with the bar. Most of the nails that were holding the plywood down actually pulled through the plywood, not out of the metal. I had to go over the floor with the pry-bar and pull out the nails one-by-one.

Dog owners say the same thing...
But seriously unless your bus is brand new, I'd want to see what the condition of the floor is before I built a house on it. It's like the "foundation". As the member above said- Its messy, wet and rotten oftentimes. I have a few little rust spots that I'd hate to cover up without addressing.

Hey no worries. Take a chill pill and try to have a happy thanksgiving. No need for the bad vibes. Its just a conversation.
Try to lighten up, Francis. No one is "messing with you".

Bad days happen; no need to take it out on other members. His previous comment didn't seem to be personal even though you perceived it to be personal in nature. Everyone here is entitled to an opinion. Please let's keep it civil.
