Roof Options

I need to raise the roof of my bus, buy I don't have the money to pay a welder. What are the most cost effective options, preferably that I can do myself or with a minimal amount of people?
I've heard talk of fiberglass roofing, but I'm not sure how much that costs or if I can do it myself.

You can raise it without welding just use bolts or rivets.
But finding someone to weld for a few hrs isnt terribly expensive.

I didn't weld anything on my roof raise. I bolted everything together.

I did a similar method as Nat, and it couldn't have been easier! Make sure you get custom hat channels made, it's the only way to go. Be sure you use locking nuts with your bolts, and make sure you use enough, otherwise you'll regret it when you're climbing on your roof later! Also I would advise to check for roof leaks and various other roof jobs before raising it!

Intalleyvision speaks truth. Do as much as you can to the roof before raising it. Two feet taller makes a big difference.

I used regular nuts and seam seal to lock the threads to keep them from coming loose.

Construction scaffold is nice for safely working on the exterior of the bus before and after the roof raise.
