Runnin water

When I took out the floor heaters I decided to salvage the fans for my glass shop and the pump for water I plan on cleanin the s out of it and wiring it back up to the control panel. Would this mean that I could only run the water when the bus is on or could I have limited use on reserve power? I am grabbing a sink/counter from a habitat restore. Also I am curious how to go about cutting holes in the floor to access a 35 gal tank for clean water and drain to a 35 gal gray water. I have limited expertise but an ability for great understanding. I found little help in the tutorials. A detailed explanation would be awesome.

Re: Runnin water

You just need a hole saw like this one to run the lines through.

Make sure it is marked 'bi-metal' (not just for wood), and make sure you know what your obstacles and clearances are behind whatever panel you're drilling through. (Don't ask me how I know... )

Would you suggest making a compartment above the sink inside or mounting one on top either way what methods for refill?

Re: Runnin water

For filling my tank I put a garden hose valve on the end of one of the hoses on the tank. I connect my garden hose with the quick connect I put on the end, then open up the valve to fill the tank, close it when it is getting full.

Got this from RV Surplus site, but would imagine you could get serveral configurations.

but add a 35 gallon attached inside to provide gravity feed pressure
Gravity pressure is only about 1/2 psi per foot of elevation, not much elevation in a bus. Picture a water cooler.

Re: Runnin water

Yeah it's one of those perennially interesting problems that uses up a lotta bar napkins, but when you sober up you just go out and buy a pump ...

Pump takes about 4 amps (mine does anyways), do a few calcs and see just how little power it uses for how much annoyamce it does away with. Total up actually how long the pump actually runs each day, what, maybe 20 or 30 minutes if you put it all together and you get less than 2 amp hours a day ...
