my first step was locating where i could hang a dump tank, which in turn locates where you toilet/bathroom is.
plan it out well on paper after that. you'll need to place water tanks, water pump, water heater and all your plumbing pipes.
you'll want to know where each outlet will be, what loads are going where, what gets 12v, what gets 120. batteries? inverter? solar? generator? lots of wires that are harder to install afterwards.
then hvac, where is the heater going to be, where are ducts going to run. its a good time to add propane for your heater fuel, so those lines need to be run too.

every system in your house, will potentially be in your bus. plus the systems that are unique to the bus. it gets very complex when you join the 2 together.

good luck

I think you will find that people do it a lot of different ways. My personal experience has been that each step takes me 2-3 times longer than I originally planned. I thought putting insulation down on the floor would be simple and quick. It ended up being fairly simple but it took hours of research and I had to make more cuts than I originally planned for. I also had a general idea of the order of things, but it tends to change as I go. Here is where I am so far:
1. bought a bus
2. took out seats and windows
3. took out all the flooring
4. removed the ceiling and ceiling insulation
5. removed all the side walls and insulation
6. removed all the wires from the sides/walls of the bus
7. raised the roof
8. installed metal siding to cover the raise (about 1500 rivets)
9. patched all holes in the floor and walls
10. put rustoleum on the floor and new metal
11. put down rigid foam insulation and framed it
12. put down the sub floor

Now I am about to start framing up the inside walls, putting in spray foam insulation, and doing the electrical wiring.

Take items 2 thru 12, put them in a salt shaker and sprinkle them out one at a time and you will have the exact order in which to do each task. Repeat the process "X" number of times.
