Yes you can install the pex inside the intake stack without any issues.

I would not fear the outcome at all, unless the tank over flowed, and forced sewage into the intake for the engine.

With you set up, I think you mentioned you will be using a toilet in your bus, so this could never happen.

Theres going to be a intake scoop installed like you see on blower motors, also the pipe is 5in across, I don't see a time when the waste tank will be really full, a lot of hghway rest areas have dump station plus many other places to dump so theres no reason to carry a lot of waste down the road,,, Stuart

LOL, so if used fryer oil makes your exhaust smell like french fries, what will waste tank venting into your intake make your exhaust smell like?

Also, I wonder if the methane will increase the combustion yield? (ok, that was a bit sarcastic, but still an interesting question)

Hey! I might just build me one of them. The EPA is gonna hate me, shhh, don't let them know.

So if you dump the vent into the intake, and the waste into the exhaust, that would make for a really crappy ride.

I crack me up, lol.

Ok decision time, Black tank is in place & I'm running a 1in id vent hose , would it be a good idea to run the line to the top of my intake on the inside of the intake tube or option B, run it so it vents out inside of the rear right red flashing light hood.

I mounted my vents out the side of the coach. saw no need for an extra hole in the roof.

We use a 17 gal black tank with a small fitting on top of the tank connected to a piece of rubber hose who's open end is higher than the toilet bottom for a vent. Lasts 2 weeks with 2 of us and no stink. I use also Happy Camper additive, one scoop per tank.

ok its vent time.... so do you use burp vents under sink, and a different type for the black and grey tanks?
my idea was to run a 1/2 inch pex vent from each tank, Y them together then chase the vent up and out high above engine somewhere in engine compartment. what kind of vent do i want to run the pex to? same type as burp vent under sink?

I ended up running vent line up thru the firewall next to the air intake & vented out the right mount for the right rear flasher, i figure if i make that a extra brake light I'll put a 1/4 spacer behind it so it will vent. Smelled but not seen.

Two things one I knew and one our old friend NAT brought to my attention.
The fixtures sink or whatever needs to vent to drain so in remote locations, hard to back vent places an island vent/studor vent are ideal.
However they do not serve the same purpose as the holding tank vents.
The fixtures only need to let air into the piping so as to break the vacuum so the water can drain to the tank(studor vent/island vent idea without releasing gas/methane, poop air into your indoor atmosphere.
The tank vents need to be able to let the tanks breathe in only when draining but exhale the air when filling with water.
If the tank can't get rid of the air that is in it then (for example) your 50- gal. grey water tank will only fill up with 25-gal of whatever you want to be in it before your fixtures start backing up because the other 25-gal. Is air that is creating back pressure on anything else entering the tank.
Some of you may already know some of this?
I didn't think about the tank exhaust/intake vent and I finished most inside before I installed tanks and before NAT brought it up discussing a question I had on tanks.
I ended up turning a 3/4 galv. Steel pipe out each corner at the back side. Between the bumper and body just beside the lights. One for each tank with a valve underside. My stacks are removed and stowed until parked and until drained and cleaned for hitting the road or removed and stowed and valves closed for having to carry a load in the tank's. and I don't mind letting a little excess out while stopped somewhere and the snooty people are staring at me/bus or whatever?
Also for 3/4-1-1/2" piping thread they do make a galvanized vent cap with wire mesh screen inside. Most common in my area as a well casing vent. I don't do well's but my company buys them for steamline casing vent. Same purpose but when I go to a supplier even commercial plumbing they only know them as a well casing vent or a piece of screen with a rubber band, bread tie will last for a little while. Something to keep the dirt dobber s out when parked for awhile.
I know there is nothing quick about most of my replies?
Hoped I gave some insight.

i finished it. there are a few pics i updated in album of the underside of bus plumbing and the vent on the roof. decided the easiest way to vent was straight up through toilet room, then i trimmed over it with cedar.

Regarding where to vent: maybe vent into the air cleaner like a crankcase vent? Hydrocarbons...
