You didn't TELL me prep took so long!
Getting our bus ready to paint is taking longer than I had envisioned. In particular, I'm surprised at how much time it takes to get rid of the roughly 400,000 decals and reflective tape and their associated adhesive...
On the other hand, my dear wife is out there doing most of it (and a fine job she's doing, too). She's an angel!
[No, I have not been sitting around watching her and drinking a beer: I've been fussing with the instrument cluster, the door lock, getting ready for seat removal, and scraping all of the paint drips from the highly overzealous blackouter guys.]
Progress!

Lol,awesome stuff. Haven't started prep yet but we have been looking at paint designs. Maybe going to school for paint and fabrication will come in use after all. If you think prep is bad, wait till you start painting that huge thing. Roll on be the easiest bet I believe. Keep up hard work.

Wife says she hires out for decal removal, but she's expensive.

I have to give mine credit too, she held my heavy engine door forever while i made roadside repairs Tuesday afternoon. I didn't feel bad though it was her that got me into this whole skoolie thing to begin with. Looks like you got a keeper!

I aspire to be like your wife someday! I'm still doing everything now, but I'm only level 50, so it remains to be seen how long I will be mountain biking, angle grinding, rock climbing, shoveling the roof, etc.

Well, oddly enough... the day you posted this, my wife said, "You know, we may want to keep the bus..."
Still seems like a money sink to me (not that there's anything wrong with that: it's that way with most hobbies)... but losing my job makes me think about these things more than I did before.
But will I take bets? No way. You're probably right.

After putting primer on the bus my wife won't let me touch paint again?
WooHoo I did that right
No more painting for me, she is awesome,in the middle of painting our house,
I do the prep at night after work and she paints in the mornings before work.
I don't like prep work but I like it better than painting,
It's all about making it fun to work on the bus? Ain't gonna share my methods cause it will be different for each couple, family involved,
Good luck and have fun
