Lars, great pic--feel free to post more here if you like and they can be shared. I may be mistaken, but that bus looks like a '36 set on a Chevy dually.

What a Beaut! --- love the triple wiper arrangement and there must be a new chassis/running gear under it as I think I see some independent suspension on the front end. Post'em if you got'em!

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hey Jack --- Been too long bud! Hope yer not stuck in the zero progress mode that I'm currently in. Been working 14-18 hour days, 7 days a week for three months straight now and I am thoroughly whipped. Still another month of it to go.

My engine & tranny are ready to be picked up (with a crane) and taken to my shop, but it will likely be a few more weeks before I even have time to manage the move. Makin' me crazy!

Absence makes it hard to fondle...errr...the heart grow fonder.

Onward!

Hey Tango, Thought you'd like to know that I got the rear bumper from Lars the other day. It'll need some straightening and a rechrome but it fits just fine and will look very cool. Just for fun I posted some stuff on Nomadicista--hope you'll take a look at it. Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hey Jack ---slick as always! And we are parallel once again. You've been on hiatus, I've been swamped with "other" work. You're working on your pilot seat...my last visit to my bus was to work on the pilot seat. I had a steel box made to mount mine on and will be affixing a slide/swivel mount onto a an arrangement that will allow me to move it to the outside wall when parked (I only have a right-side door). That way I can use it as my Lazy Boy in the living room and still have a little space to move around it.

Can't wait to see what your final looks like or to get back to work on my own. Keep the pix coming.

Onward!

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hey Tango, Same bus +/-, same age (us) +/-, same design +/- funny how that turned out. I'll look forward to seeing how you make your pas seat move outboard. Because I mounted my shift to the left of the drivers seat I chose to make my pas seat move to the center to clear the door.

I spent today making a steel box to put the drivers seat on. It slides fore and aft and rotates like yours and it will serve as one seat for the dinette. Rather than building a bench for the other side of the dinette I'm looking for a period oak kitchen chair which I'll secure to the floor while in transit. No pics today but I'll post over there tomorrow.
