Re: 1964 Bristol Lodekka- Double Decker Bus
Now that is a cool bus. I can picture a galley and bath downstairs, along with a small lounge, and two bedrooms upstairs. What are your plans?
The few double deckers I've seen in my area, Cincinnati, OH, have been parked for decades and most are in worse shape than yours. That made me wonder about the reliability and avaiability of parts, being that they are old and British. How well does yours run and have you had to buy any parts?

Re: 1964 Bristol Lodekka- Double Decker Bus
Welcome to the group and great start! That's quite a project, but having a second floor will make a huge difference, living-wise. Took a ride in a modern 45 foot d-decker a few years back and having twice the floorspace on the same foot-print made for a pretty amazing layout. Best of luck with the old girl and do keep us up to date.

Re: 1964 Bristol Lodekka- Double Decker Bus
Thanks for the video's. great entertainment.
Its nice to see that a lot of the smoke cleared up on your drive. The motor might be healthier then you think...

Re: 1964 Bristol Lodekka- Double Decker Bus
Thanks for posting those videos. I know the inside is probably still empty at this point but do you have any interior photos? I'd especially like to see the cockpit, which I guess is not accessible from the main coach. Also like to see how the stairs are done. Looks like those are directly behind the cockpit area.
Thanks,
Christopher

Re: 1964 Bristol Lodekka- Double Decker Bus
bet you get this all the time but hows it driving around a city, branches, not being able to see brow of roof etc.. any insight into how the bus is constructed. low floor rear engine to keep it open? what is the floor like underneath seems like itd be real heavy duty. no frame rails under neath? where did you even find it. i didnt know they brought them over.
