For me they are that much better. I park next to a lot of high dollar and well done buses at the tailgates and those wheel covers made a world of difference for the look of my bus.

Re: 1972 IH Ward Conversion

Today I took my bus over to the local IHC Scout specialists, http://www.anythingscout.com/, and had them take a look at my bus. They say the engine looks to be in great shape but they can do a few things to it that give the 345s more oil pressure, rebuild my power steering pump, and hopefully a more powerful alternator.

Re: 1972 IH Ward Conversion

The Winegard antenna kept flying out of or breaking its mount while driving down the interstate. I decided a bold should hold it secure and then I used large zip ties to secure the wings from flapping around at interstate speeds.

Re: 1972 IH Ward Conversion

It has been a while since I posted a wiring diagram so here is the system I am currently using. I bought an isolator for the engine battery to use in place of the switch but that would mean that the fans and other DC power in the bus would be draining my engine battery so I never installed it and instead decided to go with a regular switch.

Re: 1972 IH Ward Conversion

Hi, Nice bus can I ask you a couple of questions about your battery setup? My goal is to have a generator free setup. Might use some solar but mostly just motor charge.

If I am reading your thread right then it has ben a few years now since you put in the UPS batteries? How are they holding up and would you recommend them?

Do you happen to have a part number for them so I can try to source them?

And finally do you think your setup requires the 3 deep cycle bats as well or were these just what you had before going with the UPS?

Thanks in advance and again a great looking bus you have there!

Re: 1972 IH Ward Conversion

Well I'm going to put the old girl up for sale. I haven't this bus longer than any other vehicle and it will be sad. Hopefully I will have some time soon to clean it out. The bus is stored in a heated garage so I just need to find time.

Anyone interested in buying it?
