Bodacious Bird Busman! --- That's a real classic you have there. 'Course in the olden days, it would have been a BeetleBus on top though. Very cool. More pix! Show us your switches!
BTW...just how tall is that gal?

Re: 1984 Bluebird Double Decker
I like it!
couple questions:
1 - How did you put the van on top?. Bunch of people or more scientific approach?.
2 - How high is it (at highest point)?

Re: 1984 Bluebird Double Decker
Well, this gets me thinking. I've got a 1990 Ford Aerostar (best minivan ever, IMHO), and now I know what I'm going to do with it.
Please show more pics of the interior.

[quote="thebusman"]sits at 13'6"
I wanted to make it as tall as I could on the inside, so that I may sit up in bed!
I will try and snap some interior photos tomorrow.. have some cleaning to do first
Can't wait to see what you did under the chopped van!.

Reason I ask, I plan to run pipe straight down, under floor, then 90 to the middle of the frame... but thats where i run into trouble.. I have supports in the frame that prevent me from running pvc.. not enough space and the angles...
SO
can I run the braided pvc lined hose, for the sinks to grey water??
I'll try and get pics of the frame to better understand whats going on..

Re: 1984 Bluebird Double Decker
David says you are taking a chance with 3/4". Use 1" at minimum. Since there is no pressure on it, you do not need to use braided hose. Watch your"dips" as they will hold water in the low sags and can burst from freezing (use the plastic plumbing strap on hoses... less wear). The drain lines in our Apache popup was "bilge" hose (lightweight crappy plastic... rots over time and will crack). We replaced it with some rubber-type hose like used to drain washing machines. I would suggest not using the clear hose simply because green goo, etc will grow nicely in it. Smooth interior wall hose would be something to look for.

Re: 1984 Bluebird Double Decker
I think that hose, with a 90 bend, could collapse and get clogged real easy at the pinch point. Better do the extra work with PVC.

Re: 1984 Bluebird Double Decker
You can use hard plastic pipe until you go thru the floor to the 90° angle. Once you make the turn, add a short piece of hard pipe then hose clamp the flexible hose over the hard pipe.

That's awesome! Pain-in-the-ass neighbor should have left well enough alone - now it's even more of an eyesore to them on the street! Serves them right!
I'm so thankful that I have cool neighbors. They put up with all of my shenanigans.

Damn...wish my gf didn't have her '89 Plymouth V'ger scrapped. Its lower body was banged up but the top half was just fine!
