This is a great linear actuator site. Tons of cool actuators. Kind of pricey but the real thing.

Thanks Rivetboy. I've bookmarked that page now. I could possibly use these instead of gas struts.

Sorry o1marc. I meant a linear actuator but couldn't think of the words. For now, they will be stationary. I'm using 2 L brackets that are bolted together at the moment.

I'll take some more pictures of them as I assemble the next one and I'll take some close ups of this one later today.

Do you have think plywood under thicker plywood for your subflooring? If so, is there a reason aside from that's what you had laying around? I'm working on mine now. Trying to figure out the Emergency door on the side. It's so low already that are making a step down before the opening from the higher 2" insulation area. The idea is it will be sort of a mini garage although I think we have 3-4 things planned for that area that are incompatible with each other!!! We have GOT to get a PLAN on paper or taped on the floor!!!

I think I see the confusion. Under the captain chair is a piece of aluminum diamond plate on top of a piece of plywood. Why did I do that? I didn't know better than not too lol. It also evened out that floor area.

Behind that, for the rest of the subfloor I frames with 2x3, 48" on center across the bus. I know not everyone does that, but I did. In between the metal floor and the ply wood top is a sandwich of 1" R-Tech and 3/4" polyisoprene foam board.

I know, I know, polyiso is hated here but it's what I could get. The only xps sold here at HD is a 2'x2' square at about $6 a pop. I wasn't shelling out theoney to do all that. I figure that maybe the R-Tech bottom will help out the polyiso. Not that worried about cold getting in but keeping heat out.

Oh, or the white stuff, that's eterna bond. I had various rolls of eterna bond and sealant type tapes lying around so I laid it under the framing boards. I hope this helps and let the question. If not, let me know.

Update: window unit a/c installed inside is basically done. Looking back, there is a better way to do it and I might go back at some point in the future and change it. But for now, it's on to framing and spray foam in the near future.Click image for larger version

Well, that was an interesting and slightly expensive lesson. I had it all vented nice and working. However, water will find a way and it won.

I'm scrapping the window unit inside the bus. I'll patch the holes I cut. Maybe I'll put some lights in or something lol. Anyways, I ordered a mini-split from HD. It'll go in the back of the bus.

The setup took a lot of space away from the bedroom anyway...

Yeah, me too. Put me a few days behind so I'll have to make that up. June 25th is moving to Grandma's house day. That'll give us a week to get this place ready for a Aug 1 listing. Hopefully I can make a real dent in this by then.

Between yesterday and this morning I got some framing done. Ceiling walls and 4 out of 7 windows are framed. A/C is framed out. Skylight is framed. 1 of 2 ez-breeze fantastic fans are framed near where the stove will be.

What's left before spray foam:

Frame back wall and above drivers area

New clearance and marker lights need to be installed

Install some ground lines on ribs (interior) for overhead lights

Holes patched (again) from failed a/c experiment

(Plumbing and electrical will be run under the lip of the chair rail during build, after spray foam)

Am I missing anything?Click image for larger version

Not much done today. Removed some more mistakes and then went to the dentist for 5 hours. 3 fillings and a temp crown later and I go back on the 19th.

It seems the harder I try to work on the bus, the more stuff gets in the way. I'm so close to spray foam. I feel.like I'll be flying through after that. Trying to keep my head up.

Patched back up. Working on some framing. Come hell or high water, I'll start spray foam by Sunday
