1991 Thomas Built 59 passenger

I've had this bus in operation now for just a little over a year. It is a 1991 Thomas Built 59 passenger 5 speed manual with a 366 under the hood. Just like everyone's skoolie it is a continuing work in progress. Last fall this bus found it's major purpose as a tailgating/ party bus, mostly used for Iowa State football. So right now, the conversion is kind of non-traditional compared to many of the awesome RV conversions I've seen around here. As soon as I get some better pics, I'll be sure to post them.

Interior Pictures

I have finally posted some interior pics HERE.

Future projects include:

- PAINT JOB

- tinting all the side windows

- changing the captain's chair to something more comfy

- addition of more stereo amps and speakers

- hiding the wires behind the stereo

- underbody storage

- possible co-captain's chair

I am also interested in possibly using this bus for RAGBRAI. A deck on top of the bus would be nice. Does anyone have any tips on building one? (Plans, material, etc) Thanks for any comments!

I see you started putting in cabinets I like you used the rivets that hold the roof skin on to also hold up the cabinet. When are you bringing it back up to Ames

excellent work on the paint job ! I like seeing skoolies that really stick out. You shouldn't have any trouble remembering where you parked when you walk out of the wal-mart store.
