Wife prepped it, took maybe an hour and a half total. I sprayed last night and wife just unmasked it about an hour ago(I’m workin🤦🏻*♂️), so cure time didn’t really effect demasking as far as I can tell. Used painters tape.

Floor...
So I got XPS 1 inch foam and t&g advanced subflooring installed over the July 4th holiday. The very from peices were very interating but I was able to make it one piece. Having an A/C running makes morale a **** ton better. DO NOT try and install that advantec by yourself... believe me. It’s starting to come together and the excitement is setting in a little. Here are the latest pics... PS. Notice that the air conditioner had the interior of the bus at a frigid 66 degrees. I took that picture in full sun and 94 degrees outside and 90% humidity. Insulation has made the real difference for us.

Glad to see those results with the A/C. I'd hate to put all this time and effort into a build and then still be uncomfortable in it. I don't care what they say about wasting our time with all these windows. spray foam everywhere else helps a bunch, not maximum, but a noticeable effect.

Thanks! I ended up going with tiger foam 600 bf because it was the cheapest off of amazon or eBay. Pretty good quality foam and materials as far as I could tell

Failure to launch. Twice.
Well it’s been a damn roller coaster trying to get this ceiling installed right. Turns out we couldn’t get the Luan to work, even tried it both ways and built a jig to help out. No dice. So we went with plan B. I went and purchased tongue and groove pine boards to try and make it work out. This was double the price but the last resort. SUCCESS. But....
I decided I would be a smart guy and use the new loctite 4x density foam to fill the ceiling gaps before we trimmed it out. Even says on the can that it won’t bow walls or windows. Well It F&@KED up the ceiling pretty good. So had to go spend another hundred bucks to replace a whole row of boards. Now we have to polyurethane those. Again. But this being the first catch we have ran into I guess we were due for one. We have replaced the ceiling and started putting up the walls and trimming it out so I’ll post more pics later. But for now... enjoy my pain.

Another member asked about spraying foam into the factory metal ceiling panels. I talked them out of it for just this reason. As a carpenter it just looks wrong when you end full rows of boards at one point. If you had staggered the boards that damage would have been greatly minimized if not eliminated completely.
What issues did you have with the Luan? I plan on something similar to your first plan.

I think the radius is different on my ceiling with it being a 78” head room model. That’s all I can figure. I tried to use the 5mm revolution ply. Maybe I’m special but I blew two panels out with help and a jig. And with the boards all ending in one spot I’ll be running a trim peice on the seams. It’s PCs covered in wood grain so it actually conforms to the curve. Already got one in place, looks good.

I'm installing my ceiling now as well. What's your plan to cover up that 12/2 from the a/c frame? I was planning on running mine in the ceiling.

In the pic where I have the panels pulled down you can kinda see where I ran it. I ended up running it under the ceiling until I made it to the stock wire run. I plan on having a channel there to hide my lights and run that wire back to the panel.

That makes sense. I don't mind having my 12 volt buried up there but I don't really want to bury the 120. I may do something similar. Yours is looking good!

Again.
Well I ripped the ceiling down and rehung it after trimming loctite foam back out of the way. The worst project is one you have to do twice. But overall I only lost about 60 dollars so it could have been worse I guess. Anyways. I made some custom cuts for the steps to make them look better, now all it lacks is about 3 coats of spar varnish and some trim and I think I will be a pretty solid entryway. We also finished hanging the walls up, and I used an oscillating tool to trim out where the windows were afterwards. Paint is next then laying the flooring.

Those steps look really nice but they look like they'd be a liability when it's wet outside. My GF tumbles out of our buses enough with perfect traction, I can't imaging her trying to navigate a wet and smooth wood surface!

Haha poor lady! We plan on attaching an indoor/outdoor runner rug right there to solve the slippage. I’ve got two kids under two who love to use their faces as hammers so I know the feeling. Mainly the poly and spar will be to stop moisture from seeping into the wood.

At the trophy shop where I work, we custom engrave lettering into that slip resistant material with a laser engraver
(we use the thicker material in sheets, not the roll of material)
similar this this LifeSafe Non-Skid Vinyl Traction Strips
not my boat, but we've done the same to mine

Flooring. And paint
Well the wife got the walls painted and guess what I did? I was able to source some really nice flooring from Costco from 1.18 sqft so down it went. Really excited to see the bus turning out how it is in only 4 months.

It's taking shape and looking, bummer about the plan A and plan B.1 but B.2 looks good.
Got to love seeing a real difference with your insulation work

Wow.
I can’t believe how much a little trim and starting to frame can change the look of the bus. It’s starting to feel like a home. I’ve got the front carpet finished and cabinets/washer dryer set in place and started to frame the queen bed out. Also have the external water inlet for the bus installed.

It’s been a while but the work hasn’t stopped
well it has been a while but the work hasn’t stopped. Sorry about the sideways pictures. The plumbing is ready for a pressure test now and I am one outlet and panel termination away from being able to use the outside 50 amp plugins. I got the stock bus seat reupholstered and now have insurance and a tag for the bus. Hopefully I can take the bus somewhere that will tint the windows for me, it’s time to start outsourcing some labor. Wish us luck.
