P.S. The damage was caused by some dickhead that bailed after nailing my poor bus at 215am according to the PD.

OUCH! How freaking fast was that moron going? And how do you not miss a school bus? Besides being drunk.

My guess I's at least 25-30. Don't really know. I haven't tried to get the police report yet. Maybe this week. Probably no insurance. This area is infested with illegal cockroaches. I'm guess that's why the guy bailed.

And how much alcohol would that take?
Isn't it interesting that it will cost you more money to fix this damage than it will cost him to pay his fine for not having insurance? Don't even get me started on the fact that there is absolutely no incentive to get people to comply with mandatory insurance laws.
Crazycal: Get the PD's incident report, go to his address and take some patch metal off of whatever vehicles he has laying around his home. Muahaha.

Boom! Enough to buy a bus? Probably not since those food stamps most likely buy soda, t-bone steaks and allow the rest of the "earnings" to be used for smokes and booze. Da-yum! What a life!

Cripes. Sign me the heck up. I don't even like girls and I'm down.
Perhaps a mild exaggeration, but still. Sounds better than slaving away at two jobs for 90 hours a week. I don't even own a bus. WTF.

Re: 1997 AmTran International DT466
So I just bought a 1997 International AmTram Genesis .. longer without the wheel chair lift but I have the same transmission/engine .. I was lucky, the school I bought it from sent me all of the paperwork for it including the maintenance records since day one.. it got a new transmission at 98,000 miles and it's only got 152k on it now.. so I'm good for awhile =)

Hey there! I just read your entire thread. Sounds like you've had some ups and downs. The reason I read this and am messaging you is that today am embarking on a 9 hour drive from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Pineville, Missouri immediately after I get back home from my 10.5 hour overnight work route to pick up a 1996 AmTran International dt466 3800 with an at545 with 110k miles on it!!! I won it on a govdeals auction for 3k (auction fees included) and Ît's coming straight from a school district that had it hauling kids last week! I've been told by their mechanic that has worked on it for 20 years that it seems newer than a '96 due to intensive care and has zero mechanical issues or rust! I sure hope he's not mistaken about any of that!! Pretty pumped!! Anyways, I had some questions about your bus/trip if you don't mind answering some.
How has your bus held up?
Is your bus 30ft?
Have you replaced the tranny yet?
Do you have any advice for me what so ever wether it be trip advice or advice after I get it home?
Anything special I should talk to the mechanics about before I leave the school and take it home?
I wonder what the differences between our buses are besides size?
Thanks in advance and I hope your bus is still strong and doing well!
