Thanks EC! I have a lot in front of me to do, and a lot to learn, but I'm willing to put in the work, .. btw, saw your post about your bus sinking, do you think if I got some mulch delivered and compressed under the spots where the tires sit that it would be enough to prevent the bus from sinking?

Thanks! Yeah, I'm stoked about those, completely open on the inside of the two - so depending on how my layout comes together, I may use one for inverter/battery bank and part for grey/fresh water tanks!

think about weight.. batteries are heavier than luggage.. you may want to build up under the bay or at least see how its built before stuffing hundreds of pounds of bastteries in one..
Nice lookin rig!!

great point! That and I defintely want to insulate the storage to protect the batteries as well, so I guess that'd be the time to beef it all up too.

Nice looking bus. Good you made it home safely. Based on others opinions, you have the better transmission. Mine came with the AT545. I've removed most of my seats, school signage, and other stuff. I haven't gotten to the real conversion yet. Just doing a lot of research. Anyway I wish you luck with your conversion.

You wish! Try a Sawzall, a couple of wrenches and a die grinder with a pry-bar and a BFH. You're looking at about 1400 lbs of kiddie butt seating.

Getting a bit ahead of myself, but in planning out the various things I want to do to the bus - a big one for me will be A/C (I am currently living in FL after all...). Up until my purchase I was assuming I'd find a way to do a mini-split system and run it off a large battery bank with solar and a generator as back up...
However, I've been looking at marine tech and wondering if it'd be cost effective/more efficient/as efficient to run a marine A/C instead. Anyone tried something like this before:
16000 Btu, 110V, Self Contained Marine Air Conditioner System. Best marine air conditioner for cabin cruisers, sail boats, yachts and house boats

Also - if anyone has any wiring diagrams and floor/underbelly layouts - manuals , etc for this bus in a digital form - I'd love to have has much as possible on her!
Thanks

Had a diesel mechanic stop by my place today for a look at the bus (turns out my landlord knows a really nice guy!)
Anyhow, I'm getting some advice to fix my issue (bus won't get up to highway speed, shop in Memphis was to have fixed this but didn't)
Jerome, my mechanic, suggested we do a change of filters and see if that's the issue (he found no problem with the throttle linkage which is what the last shop said was the issue).
I've been trying to use Cummins' site to look up the right parts for this bus but the site doesn't seem to find my engine with the engine number, nor the engine serial number...
Can someone help me out with finding some correct parts?
(Here's a grab of the engine info)

Maintenance Day
Took advantage of the cool morning temp and did some maintenance on the engine.... changed the oil, three filters (oil, fuel, water separator), and cleaned up the engine block a bit..
