Cowlitz, I have a '98 Thomas Vista 5 window with a flat floor. It has 4.5-5" clearance above the wheels. Do you think chains would fit on this?

It all sort of depends upon the rear suspension and how heavy you load your bus.
With steel springs, even if you load it heavy, the springs will not deflect that much as you travel down the road.
With an air suspension, even if you load it lightly, the bus will move up and down quite a bit as you travel down the road.
If you have steel springs I would use tire chains.
If you have air suspension I would be very cautious about using tire chains.
