Re: 2012... The Year of Renewal

There are other sites that show proper battery box construction and how to hook up wiring for multiple batteries. (Copper Bars work best)
Battery compartment should also have drain if in a bus compartment. Some busses with huge battery banks run a fan as well.. fwiw

A lighter/power outlet is easy. You can buy one at WallyWorld for less than 6 bucks. Look at the pictures of my bus to see how to wire it into the existing panel. Your bus is the same make as mine so I'm sure they are similar. It will take a little longer than 10 minutes but not much.

  • Plumbing... check[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
  • Hot water... check[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
  • Shore power... check[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
  • Rechargable house battery... check[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
  • Crane on deck... check[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
  • Scooter on deck... well... working on that[/*:m:3oyhx2yf]
Of all the things left to do, making sure the scooter is secure is the most important. Everything else is cosmetic.

I still need to:
  • 1) finish shelves over the water tank
    2) finalize the power station set-up (secure the inverter & tidy up the wires)
    3) build the corner shelves by the couch
    4) complete the tub surround so I don't splash water everywhere.
Seems an endless list. But thanks to help from some great friends, it's getting done.

Sorry I've been offline. It's been a steady diet of work, take the bus to my mom's BF's house, work til 10-11 pm, go home and collapse, then get up at 5 am to start all over again.
I'm a little worn. All of us are frazzled, frustrated, and just generally pissed at each other. But I'm extremely grateful for the hard work Dave and his brother Rich are putting into the bus so it will be done enough in time for the trip.

One week.... and counting.

I don't know if you've changed your fuel filter yet, but that's not it. The big one is the engine oil filter and the small one is the auxiliary trans filter. Your fuel filter should be between the frame rails on the left side if it's like mine. The part number for fleetguard is FF5151.

some busses like mine, have the aftermarket fuel filter that you just drain and take the top off to clean it out..

The scooter is on the bus and ready for adventure!

Don't worry, this is merely the 'GET IT UP THERE' position. Traveling requires the handlebar slings to be removed and strapped to the motorcycle transport brace (there's a name for it, but I can't for the world of me remember what it is).

Now back out to finish last minute stuff.

4 days and counting!

Where is this road trip taking you???

Don't forget to check in every now and then to let us know waz up...

PS might want to look at you rear lites... The brake lite on the left rear is covered by the bike and the left turn signal is partly covered too...... Just FYI
