I understand you sentiment- the Allison Police are a rough crowd.
You can also shop Allison techs/shops. You still have a letter, but don't show it unless last resort. There was a member that had his done for few hundred. My guy told me $300 and he'd flash it, but haven't got my bus down there yet.

More skylight details
I anyone wants to know more details on the skylights:
I used the Home Depot 24x18x.093 lexan. It is pretty thin, but it was strong enough for me to stand on after installation. I wouldn't recommend that BTW, but I had one that I had to replace because I messed it up and so I figured I would see if it could take it. The thin lexan has the advantage of bending to the contour of the roof - avoids puddling, but I imagine there may be some drawbacks. I do think it is strong enough though. That stuff is tough. I think I used about a 1/4" drill bit and number 8 screws I think? The holes are on 2" centers and are 1/2" from the edge of the material. The overlap between the metal hole and the edge of the lexan is 1" on each side so the hole is 2" smaller in each dimension. It was tough finding the middle of the bus. Finally had to measure from the windows. When you cut the holes remember that you will need to de-burr everything, and I painted all the bare metal with primer before installing the rest of the stuff. Make sure you clean up the cutting dust because it will stain your roof after the first dew. Also, learn what products are compatible with lexan before you try to clean any of them. It is tempting to pull off the protective film sooner than later, but I would leave it on as long as absolutely possible. The butyl tape that I used was quick to get on the lexan, and very hard to safely remove. That's why I had to replace one - I tried an incompatible solvent.

Well I spoke with the guy at Thomas today and he was very friendly and indicated that he thought he could make the change to the letter that was needed in order for Allison to approve the unlocking of six year. Fingers crossed!

Cummins 8.3, Allison MD3060 and 5.38 rear.
It drives and run great but I would like to run 65 on the highway at a little lower RPM.

Seems that swapping the rear diff. ratio down to 4.44 or 4.10 would yield a better result.
I agree, Blue Bird refusing is both annoying, and wholly wrong.

Changing the programming in the TCM would be far easier than changing the rear. Also, if I change the rear gears I would sacrifice some low end performance and my reverse gear would be taller. When I back up a bus I prefer to do it slowly.
So, yes taller rear gears would drop my highway RPMs but at a cost. I am going to continue watching for some way to get 6th gear opened up.

im still working at getting the DOC software myself which from what I understand will let e change anything on any TCM... I can easily buy the software but i need the certification that basically is a class telling me not to tune a bind into a transmission.. grrrr I kinda know that already.. aint my first rodeo programming vehicle electronics..

The best result would probably come from doing both. On a flat highway, the lower geared overdrive of 6th would help.
I can't suggest how you can change the programming without Allison helping, which, for reasons only they understand, requires the consent of BB.
I'm sure there are techs out there who could do it, but I don't know any. If you find one, don't publicise their details, but do share them if requested privately
