Hadn’t thought of that. Makes sense. Got lucky and got them both right despite being ignorant.

These are just dry fitted. Yes the tee is backwards. This representative a design change and an obvious solution that took me a while to see.

Previously my final drain was ending up 6” off the ground. Bad news.

By rotating the tee I was able to maintain height before tilting down into the spigot/valve at about a 30 degree angle and keep the ground clearance flush with the skirt.

One thing I havent noticed on your build and had not yet considered for mine is a drain vent, is that even something needed for an rv?

Read the last few posts. It’s there. Yes, vented.

Thanks! I feel like every stage has compromises, but troubleshooting is quite rewarding. Looks like you have a bus a lot like mine!

This is the unit that I plan to use for the tank vent. It will allow me to vent underneath the bus without lots of stinky smells coming out.

It comes out the dump port!

Very exciting day!

The water tanks filled and the water pump worked!

I’ve got lots of finishing work to do, but once I install the three inch down tube from the toilet my plumbing will be 100% functional!

Phenomenal work mounting the tanks! I'm getting to that stage on my build and your craftsmanship answered a lot of the questions about my concepts!

Thanks for sharing!

Glad it helped! Everything was much more difficult to execute than I anticipated, but getting it done.

No progress on the bus today, but my tools and garage are organized. I can move and think again!

The garage is slowly emptying as components are absorbed into the build. I’ve got a lot left to do, but I feel like I’m over the hump and one by one I’m finishing things more often than starting new ones.

now that you got plumbing in, before you close everything up, take your bus out on a 30 mile ride over town and through the freeways with your tanks in somew state of fill.. this way you can chec k for any leaks that may occur from slamming over bumps and such in a bus...

lookin great!!!

Good idea! Think I may finish propane and do exactly this!

So this is what I ended up with. Very messy.

I had to add a second spur to allow the second tank to fill faster. I was just letting it flow through the pex that t’s I to the pump intake and it was taking forever.

Name:	IMG_4480.jpg
Views:	26

I also added a diverted valve so I use water from one tank at a time rather than both at once.

All of this made me afraid that my fittings would get hit and I would break a fitting or worse, a bung.

So I made platforms that go over the hoses so we can store junk without killing the plumbing. They just lift out, but do a lot to easy my mind.

By the time I finished this the vent lines started looking vulnerable.

And yes I used great stuff to attach the vent line to my existing spray foam. Ugly, but will be hidden and secures well without puncturing the seal of my spray foam.

I replumbed the vents using pex and finding less vulnerable paths.

Then I built boxes over the bungs to keep them safe.

While in the area, I labeled all my electrical plugs.

Gonna have to come back with clear tape to get the labels to stick.

All in all this was a learning experience. I hope it works out, but I feel like the whole tank/pump situation is not elegant.

It all works though and no leaks...

Getting started on propane now.

Looks like I’m going to be able to reuse almost the entire system that came out of the RV with little modification.

Partial/dry fit of basic propane manifold.

1/2” flare connection from regulator hose to npt 1/2” schedule 40 pipe to 1/2” tee, then 1/2” npt to 3/8” flare.

The three 3/8” flare fittings will feed 3 flare fitted flexible copper lines that will feed the stove, furnace, and water heater.

The stove accepts 1/2” male npt, so I have to adapt back from flare at the appliance end.
