43 school bus bunker

We were watching "Doomsday Preppers" on National Geographic today and there was some guy in Ontario who had taken 43 school buses and buried them to make a 10,000 square foot bomb shelter. He had them set up to shelter and feed up to 500 people.

And here I was, thinking that a roof raise was a big project.

David Koresh...aka; the Waco Whacko...also had a few underground bus bunkers. But still, as long as they aren't "vintage" iron, not a bad idea.

Sounds increadable. I'm going to look that up as I would like to see it.

C- can shipping containers are expensive and crush when buried. Buses are strong and the galvanized ones would last a lifetime under ground.

I can see that --- the old Crowns & war era Chevys were so much better built than any of the post war crap!
