Nice install on the Media Center. I like the wood trim you put around it.

thanks, the trim serves a practical purpose, and the cavity i cut in the metal isn't deep enough to accommodate the media center. so i bolted the 2x2`s into the metal then screwed the media center into the wood. The wood needs a couple more coats of shellac, i also intend to carpet tile the unused area around the wood.

As a bonus, you can replace it by the square if it gets stained/cut/etc. How much does it help the echo while driving down the road?
thanks,
i driven the bus since i bought it home, so i don't know about road noise and if the carpet helps. but it has removed the echo when im doing work inside the bus. it also seems to keep the bus warmer as there is less steel in contact with the inside of the bus. i have a lot more carpet to glue down.

added some more walls over the windows, and carpeted them, plus i blocked off the roof vent with a piece of felt underlayment, and insulated all around the vent hole as there was at least a foot of space in between the inner and outer skins of the bus with no insulation around the vent hole.i also finished carpeting the front area above the windshield

That came out nice, well done! ... Good to keep access door "accessible" on floor.

Looks really nice. Wow. And you left the seat rails in as a nice border and finished nicely. I hate them but don't see where I can do much different unless I brought the walls in to their level or somehow hammered them down/up against the walls. Makes for a nice break though.

They do make a great electrical/hydrulic chase when closed below the rail.

yes, i was thinking to use it for supporting wiring and water pipes.i also thought it might be useful for attaching furniture, cabinets etc as the seat rail is pretty strong. he portions of it that end up interfering with my plan i figure can be cut off with an angle grinder. here are some photos from the bedroom. the phone doesn't take good photos though

I looked for some holes in the the roof framing and i don't think you are going to have much luck with running wire. The holes on mine are abit sporadic in spacing and are only about the width of a pencil. the only way i could see it happening is by expanding the existing holes with a large drill bit which would pretty much require digging into the metal roof skin.

thanks Sam,

here are some pictures of my solar panel i got from ebay. as you guys can see there was an impact on the back of the panel that fractured the glass and probably one of the cells. its an 80W 5A panel that they say they tested and still puts out 40W 1.8A. this would make sense with the sun loss from the fractured glass and the broken cell. i bet i can bypass/replace the broken cell and replace the glass if i can figure out how to take the panel apart.

Looks good in and out. What did you use to replace the glass and what are the two Coleman green boxes in the pic? Jack

18 GA cold rolled steel. i trimmed the corners with a dremmel and a cut off wheel. i drilled and screwed it to the frame, and used silicone to seal it. the 2 boxes are actually fresh water tanks that i have yet to install. i had to clean up alot of glass. weirdly, one side was tempered glass and one was safety glass. i plan to insulate both inside frames, then carpet over them both so that they are no longer noticeable.

Re: 87 Wayne Lifeguard international S1700 CXXVI

here is an interior lock solution for my interior side door. it works pretty good. the door is latched tight. and this thing wont come out until i press the little blue button on the back it has 2 little pins toward the end that you cant see in the pic that retract when you press it.. other than this i spent the weekend insulating the back windows and re caulking specific windows in an attempt to track down a leak.
