95 Ford Thomas

Hello, My name is Brian and I've started my own skoolie project. This is actually my second bus, however I didn't end up converting the first. I ended up selling it as a school bus before I got the conversion started. A little bit about me. I have been involved with school buses for 10 years now since 1999. I started driving them in college, then delivered them for a local Thomas Dealer here in MI, worked on them as a part time mechanic, sold them for 2 years before taking my current job with Daimler Trucks (Parent company of Thomas Built Buses). Oh, I was also a teacher for the 05-06 school year. Needless to say, I'm a Thomas guy and really enjoy my bus so far.

About the bus. I bought this bus from the school district that I started driving a bus at way back in 99. In recent years I'd been maintaining the bus for the district as well. It's a 1995 Ford B Series Chassis on a Thomas 65 pass body +10" that once had a rear lift. (I took it out and is currently sitting in my garage if anyone is interested) The engine is a Cummins 6Bta with an Allison 545 Transmission. The bus has air brakes/ride which are nice features for use in a motorhome. I've attached some pictures of the progress so far. Basically I"ve just removed most of the seats and placed my hand me down couches from my basement strategically througout the bus. I'm open for any suggestions and have really found the posts on this forum quite useful. More info to come.

Re: 95 Ford Thomas

Welcome to the madness Brian!

Good start you have - nice bus. Your best bet is to surf around skoolie & look at the 1000's of photos as no 2 conversions are the same but there are many incredible ideas & designs out there for floorplans & everything else! Good to have the experience as a mechanic under your belt, could help answer some questions here on the board also. Good luck & post many photos!
